2024 PBLA Season Information-at-Glance

2024 SEASON INFORMATION

The PBLA returns for 2024 and its 38th Anniversary!    Here are some highlights:

  • ALL GAMES WILL BE STREAMED LIVE VIA A PROFFESSIONAL SYSTEM WITH PLAY-BY-PLAY COMMENTARY!   INTRODUCING PBLA-TV!
  • Attention College Players! If you and your teammates want to form a small core and play on the same PBLA team, we can make this happen!  But you must act quick!  Contact us ASAP
  • Open lacrosse starts Monday April 29, 2024 @7:00 pm-8:30pm and will be every Monday and Wednesday until season start-up.
  • First game will be May 20, 2024
  • All games will be played at Rizzo Rink unless a situation causes a change.  As usual, games will be Monday and Wednesday @ 7:00pm and 7:50pm.
  • The fee is still $185 however a $25 late fee will be in place one week before the season starts.   $25 late fee kicks in on May 13, 2024.  Fee still includes jersey, shorts, and 12 regular season games plus playoffs!
  • You must be or become a US Lacrosse member to participate.  Please have your USA Lacrosse membership ID# handy when registration or log in with US Lacrosse user name and password If you don’t have a membership, the fee will be added to your league fee and your membership will automatically processed.  (Starting in 2020, the Philadelphia Department of Recreation required all adult leagues to be privately insured.  The PBLA has partnered with USA Lacrosse to provide this and we are now an officialy sanctioned program under the USA Lacrosse umbrella.  Your membership also provides you with insurance for other USA Lacrosse events, leagues, and tournaments as well.  For more information for what what else your membership includes, click here.
  • When registering, you can log-in with your USA Lacrosse username and password for simplicity. You must use an Adult membership to register for the league.   That will complete most of your registration.

New to the PBLA?  Here are some quick facts:

  • Oldest continuously existing box lacrosse league in the United States!  The PBLA started in 1986!
  • The PBLA Season goes from Mid-May through August (perfect for college players).  Games are Mondays and Wednesdays
  • Fee is $185 for the entire seson. This includes your team jersey and shorts.
  • Each PBLA team plays 12 regular season games plus playoffs if your team quailifies.  Games are played Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:00 pm and  8:00 pm
  • Extremely competive! 85% of the PBLA coinsistts of college players.  7 teams / 25 players each
  • The PBLA is a non-profit entity.  We are all about growing lacrosse
  • PBLA Player stats are kept on our website.  Can be used for recruiting purposes!
  • Many professional players are PBLA alums (MLL, NLL, and PLL)
  • The PBLA is an Offical USA Lacrosse sanctioned league!

Founded in 1986, The Philadelphia Box Lacrosse Association (PBLA) is known as the most organized indoor lacrosse league in the Philadelphia tri-state area. League action is from mid-May to the end of August. Dedicated to the growth and diversification of box lacrosse, we are the oldest and most continously running box lacrosse league in the United States.
